This is a high-quality, handcrafted replica of the traditional Albanian flintlock pistol, known as “Rat tail” due to the characteristic long-curved grip. This type of firearm was commonly used in the Balkans, particularly in Greece, during the late Ottoman period and the Greek War of Independence.
The stock and body are made of seasoned walnut wood, wrapped in hand-engraved brass sheet featuring intricate traditional motifs. The octagonal barrel tapers into a round muzzle, with a total barrel length of 32 cm. It features a Miquelet-style firing mechanism, typical of Balkan firearms from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The pistol has a total length of 52 cm.
An excellent collectible item for historical enthusiasts, museums, or use in period reenactments and stage productions.
