Boula / Bride Mask from Naoussa
- Category
- Mask of Naoussa
- Code
- M810
A unique example of traditional Naoussa craftsmanship, entirely handmade in our workshop following time-honored techniques passed down through generations.
Created in a plaster mold, using thick fabric layered and soaked in pure beeswax, this mask achieves its characteristic solidity and smooth texture. It is hand-painted with traditional colors — the pure white base, bright red cheeks and lips, and the golden mark on the forehead — symbolizing purity, vitality, and ritual significance.
An authentic piece of Greek folk art and cultural heritage of Naoussa, this mask is directly connected to the renowned local custom of “Genitsaroi and Boules”, performed during the Carnival. Perfect for collectors, museum displays, or traditional interior decoration.
